Music Heals Brings Connection and Joy to Dufferin Place
Through a matching grant from the Music Heals Foundation, residents of Dufferin Place were able to connect through music therapy.
“I often sit here, singing or thinking through the songs I love most. Reciting them like poetry. When one is stuck in bed all day, you must do things to distract yourself. I use my music. When you arrive, I can share those songs, those poems with you and we can enjoy their beauty together.”

New Accessible Bus for Residents
The Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation (NDHF) is proud to announce that a refurbished bus for Dufferin Place Long Term Care Centre is officially on the road.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of community donors, a donation from Eldercare Foundation, fundraising from the Long Term Care Centre staff, and a legacy gift from a local family, the Foundation has raised the full $65,800.00 needed to purchase a fully accessible bus for seniors at the centre.
