Thank you to everyone who made our Staff Appreciation Day at NRGH possible! From the wonderful prizes and goodies donated by caring community leaders to the therapy animals and the one and only Funkanometry performing for our healthcare providers, it was an amazing day. We hope the staff at NRGH felt the gratitude we have for them and our appreciation of their tireless hard work to keep us safe and healthy every day. You inspire all of us and are a fundamental part of this community!

Together these car dealerships purchased an astounding 1,872 cookies in support of our Nanaimo Regional General Hospital!

Alison Nelner dropped off 245 gorgeous baby hats from the Parksville Qualicum Retired Teachers Association. This incredible group makes more than 500 baby hats every year for the newborns at NRGH. Our thanks to all of the talented members.

Carol Connolly from the Nanoose Quilters brought more than 25 quilts to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for the NICU, Maternity and Paediatrics. This incredible group donates quilts all year long for various departments in the hospital. We thank all of the members for putting their love and talent into these beautiful blankets.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #257, Lantzville made a donation of $2,000 for Dufferin Place to support the residents living there. In celebration of this donation, the Legion President, Frank Mezzatesta honoured Georgina Rosewall for her special 95th birthday. Georgina is one of the founding members of the Lantzville Legion. Also, in the photo is Janice Perrino, CEO of the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. Donations over the past 20 years to the Hospital Foundation total nearly $80K.

Brenda was born in NRGH and was a very sick baby. In fact, when she was 6 days old, her family’s pastor came in to baptize Brenda as she wasn’t expected to live through the night. That next morning, her condition changed, and she has gone on to live a full life with two children of her own. When she was out with her husband and saw the fabric with phrases like “you are so brave” she said she just knew she was meant to make these into quilts for children in our hospital as a way to practice gratefulness. These special quilts will go to our smallest of patients.
