Survivors Give to Local Fight Against Cancer

The Abreast of Life Dragon Boat Team of survivors delivered a $4,500 to Janice Perrino of the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation, for the local fight against breast cancer.

Driven by their own fight against breast cancer, the Abreast of Life dragon boat team continues to push themselves in support of diagnostic equipment for people facing cancer.

Each year they hold a fundraising golf tournament at Arrowsmith Golf Club to help Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) provide cutting-edge diagnostic equipment for cancer patients.

This year’s Scottish-themed event raised $4,500, bringing the team’s giving history to almost $35,000. Abreast of Life credits golfers and sponsors for making the gift possible.
