Choosing Hope and Giving Back

One of the most incredible parts of my role is witnessing the kindness, generosity, and hopefulness of our donors every single day. From the moment I first stepped into the hospital, this has been true. And this spring, we have the privilege of partnering with one of those remarkable individuals—someone facing an incredibly difficult time yet choosing to turn her challenge into an opportunity for giving and hope.
Carly Carey is a wife, mother, business leader, and a two-time cancer warrior. After 25 years in remission, she now faces cancer once again. As she embarks on this journey of treatment and recovery, Carly is using her voice to advocate—not just for herself, but for the entire community. She has been incredibly candid sharing both the highs and lows of her journey on social media. She is equally candid on her thoughts on the current state of our hospital and her rally cry to bring our community together to fund the equipment needed to support the healthcare where we live.
As Carly herself says: “This is how we show up. This is how we share. This is how we love.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Please take a moment to read Carly’s story and, if you’re able, join her in supporting the ongoing Imaging Campaign. Every donation makes a difference for patients like Carly and the healthcare teams who care for them.
Warmly,
Barney Ellis-Perry
