Tabitha came in yesterday to donate $170.00 from her 12th birthday party to the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. T

abitha has a strong connection to the unit as it was there she visited her Grandmother in her last few days. Tabitha is a long-time supporter of the Foundation; here she is on the left at the tender age of 5 making her first donation from a lemonade stand she operated and on the right her visit from yesterday.

Thank you Tabitha, you are such an inspiration!

Thank you to Cindy Cawthra from the Ladysmith & District Credit Union who came in to the Foundation office recently to donate money the staff raises through Friday jeans days and other little fundraisers.

What an amazing group for thinking of our Regional Hospital!

Thank you to all the participants, sponsors and volunteers that made our 24th annual Golf for Life Charity Classic a huge success.

We raised over $65,000 to purchase cystoscopes at NRGH. Special thanks to Coastal Community Private Wealth for taking on the lead sponsorship, Fairwinds for hosting, Harris Auto for sponsoring the dinner and Island Radio for supplying the golf carts.

Wheel-O-Rama organizer Allen Felker came in to donate the proceeds from this one of a kind fundraiser he organized in mid-July.

Felker’s vision was to host an all wheeled show in an effort to include ‘anything on wheels’. He had been attending various car shows on the Island and thought it would be a great idea to ‘throw the doors open’ and see what would happen.

Felker also wanted to give back to the community he lives and works in and so he chose to give proceeds to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation to support our Hospital. Felker is already working on Wheel-O-Rama 2018; watch his website for updates http://wheelorama.ca
