Nanaimo Health Centre Wound Care Clinic
Local care for Lasting Recovery
Every day, seniors and adults living with chronic illnesses across Central Vancouver Island turn to NRGH for help with wounds, infections, and chronic care treatments. Demand for these services is increasing, and our hospital is stretched beyond capacity.
Seniors are particularly at risk. Many must visit the hospital regularly to receive wound care or intravenous antibiotics for infection.
Right now, these patients rely on hospital services already strained by high demand.
Opening in 2026, the Nanaimo Health Centre Wound Care Clinic will improve how our community receives care, by expanding and updating outpatient wound care and infusion services, and enabling an additional 16,000 patients a year to access care. The new Wound Care Clinic will provide patients the specialized support they need outside of the hospital through 7-day a week service.
Your generosity is helping raise $600,000 toward the renovation of the Grant Avenue clinical space on the NRGH campus to bring specialized, accessible wound care to Seniors and patients across our region.
The Wound Care Clinic will:
- Expand wound care capacity for the entire region.
- Provide intravenous antibiotic therapy outside the hospital.
- Free up hospital resources, reducing congestion at NRGH.
- Improve patient flow and access to timely, specialized treatment.
- Offer local, community-based care that is easier for Seniors and people with mobility challenges.
Your support is the key to making this clinic a reality.
Every donation brings us closer to opening this needed space while strengthening the entire healthcare system on Central Vancouver Island.
