Cancer Care Comes Closer to Home
532 donors from across Central and North Vancouver Island came together to fund cancer diagnostic and treatment equipment. The Mopec 400, costing $159,956, allows for quicker and more accurate detection of cancerous tissue.
Funding New Maternity Beds at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital
Each bed costs $20,000, and attendees quickly raised their hands to fund whole beds through full or partial donations. Six beds were purchased outright by Soirée attendees, and in total, over $200,000 was raised, funding nine beds with 32 gifts received throughout the evening.

Thanks to your generous donations, we have funded the following urgently needed equipment: ICU beds, NICU Patient Monitor, Vitruvian Aspirator and Infiltration Pump, and Perinatal Operating Room Lights at the NRGH. Your continued support is crucial to providing exceptional patient care.
NRGH must handle an average of 1400 patients per day.
The strain on our healthcare workers and medical equipment is immense. This pressure affects the Oceanside Health Center and the three long-term care facilities we support. Each year, site leaders face tough choices as they allocate the limited government equipment budgets. Unfortunately, this often results in crucial equipment falling below the budget line.
Quality Patient Care Requires Innovative Medical Equipment
The government is not able to fund all the needs, so the Foundation is continually raising the funds necessary to acquire the technology and equipment needed.
Starting in 2024, the Foundation aims to address this issue by securing funding for urgently needed equipment such as diagnostic imaging machines, colonoscopes, gastroscopes, vital signs monitors, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and more.
