Emily was so very grateful for the many warm and caring health care professionals that cared for her with such sincerity, particularly during the last few months in and out of Burnaby Hospital. She made a conscious effort to ask every doctor, nurse, food deliverer, hospital transfer driver, X-RAY/CT technician, administrator and garbage disposal person their name, as she always reminded us, “they’re people first”.

Emily had a big heart, and all those around her felt it. Her family were also most appreciative and confident in the staff’s amazing care. One of her last gestures was donating to Burnaby Hospital Foundation; she couldn’t stop praising their efforts! Please consider doing so as well; they were invaluable in ensuring her comfort both in hospital and in her transition to home care where she passed away.
