Celebrate. Empower. Inspire.
Since 2017, International Women’s Day Nanaimo (@iwdnanaimo) has been more than an annual gathering — it has been a movement. Founded with vision and heart by Courtenay Ndiaye and Anu Mayer, this volunteer‑driven event was created to bring women together in a spirit of joy, connection, and celebration.
Once a year, in the month of March, women come together to honour one another — to laugh, to share stories, to reflect, and to be reminded of the strength we hold both individually and collectively. Whether attending with girlfriends, sisters, mothers, daughters, or colleagues, guests come for an experience filled with inspiration… and leave with their hearts a little fuller.
Most importantly, this is a space to have fun, to lift one another up, and to celebrate the extraordinary women who make our community vibrant.
Giving Back to Our Community
Each year, International Women’s Day Nanaimo proudly raises funds to support our local community. This year, proceeds will be donated to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation to help address urgent healthcare needs and gaps, ensuring women and families have access to the care they deserve close to home.
Together, we’re building something powerful:
A community where women rise, support one another, and create a future rooted in strength, compassion, and possibility.
