Over 1800 generous donors came together to raise $1,841,935 making this the largest Winter Giving Campaign in Foundation history!

It’s early January, and as I walk into the hospital, passing the 174 donor recognition trees of the Light the Trees display, I am truly overcome with gratitude.
Gratitude for the 1,809 donors who gave 2,285 gifts in total to the Winter Campaign.

Your hospital needed you, and you answered the call beyond expectations.
Your donations, your overwhelming generosity, has immediate impact providing urgently needed equipment at NRGH, Oceanside Health Centre, and our long-term care facilities.
This phenomenal show of support from you, the donors, means we can fund equipment on the priority list that the government can’t.
This includes:
  • All of the medical equipment in the new High Acuity Unit.
  • Contributing to the new x-ray suites at the Oceanside Health Centre.
  • Support for the three long-term care facilities we support
  • AND the long list of urgently needed medical equipment throughout NRGH to meet the demand your hospital is facing.
All of this directly impacts the patient experience and gives our healthcare workers a message that the community is behind them.
The need is great, so we don’t want to waste any time, we are starting the allocation process immediately.
We are all concerned about the current state of healthcare in the mid-island region. That’s why our Foundation has a strategic plan that calls for us to play a more active role in advocating for better healthcare delivery for residents North of the Malahat, ie. To get a Cath Lab and eventually a new Patient Tower; doing more for Oceanside Health Centre and our long-term care facilities; and a new focus on engaging donors in areas you are passionate about, such as Cancer Care, Mental Health, Cardiac Care, and other areas you care about deeply.
2024 is full of opportunity and it beckons us all to step up, we have 12 months to continue making an impact. I’m committed to doing this, and with your continued support we will make incredible progress for healthcare in our community.
To the donors, I personally want to thank each and every one of you for showing up for your hospital when it needed you the most.
