Each year, we transform Nanaimo Regional General Hospital into a place of warmth, light, and joy. Light the Trees is our way of making the holiday season a little brighter for patients, families, and hospital staff who spend countless hours at the hospital throughout the holiday season.

From twinkling trees to Santa Claus and toy donations for children receiving care, every part of Light the Trees helps make NRGH feel more like home for the holidays.

Santa’s Visit

This is your chance to meet Santa in person as he makes his rounds spreading smiles and holiday cheer to patients and families.

Hot Chocolate from Code Brew Café

Warm up with a delicious cup of hot chocolate from Code Brew Café, served with a side of kindness.

Live Choir Performance

Enjoy the sounds of the season as local choirs fill the hospital with joyful holiday music – a favourite tradition that brightens spirits across every floor.

Craft Corner

Patients and visitors are invited to make festive crafts, cards, and decorations that add a personal touch of joy to the hospital halls.

Toy Drive for Paediatrics

The elves form NRGH’s Paediatric department will be on hand to accept new toys for children spending time in hospital over the holiday season.
